No Stranger to Email
Charles “Charlie” Kelly is no stranger to email. In fact, no one is a stranger to email any longer. From offices or from homes, you send tens, if not hundreds, of emails every day. Pictures of the kids. The company’s annual report. The latest sales data. Passwords to your new bank account. Emails to girlfriends. Emails about girlfriends. Emails about nothing in particular. Emails that you wouldn’t necessarily want other people reading.
Charlie was no different until one day he was looking at a postcard that he had received from a friend in Costa Rica. A realization hit him with the weight of a thousand bricks. All of the thousands of emails he had sent were the equivalent of electronic postcards that any person could read.
Charlie realized that he had to find an alternative to “unsafe email” and that was the day that VeriPal officially began.
On a cold and snowy December day in Niwot Colorado, Charlie architected the software and the business model. His goal was simple: to protect the privacy and security of electronic communications and to make it available for all people and businesses.
In 2005, VeriPal was selected to become a member of the CTEK incubator in Longmont, CO. VeriPal created an Advisory Board composed of members from a wide variety of fields.
In 2007, VeriPal will release its first version of the VeriPal software. VeriPal software is only available through certified “Protectors” who ensure that each member of the VeriPal network has their identity verified and that each user has the personal support they need.
